Travaille en étroite collaboration avec la direction des RH / Relations de travail et les autres membres de l'équipe de gestion sur les questions de droit du travail et de l'emploi. Fournit des services de conseil quotidiens à la direction des opérations sur le terrain concernant les questions de relations de travail et de droit de l'emploi. Représente l'entreprise devant les agences fédérales, provinciales et/ou municipales, lors de procédures judiciaires, d'arbitrages et de médiations, ainsi que dans les négociations collectives.
**Responsabilités Principales**
+ Sert de négociateur principal dans les négociations collectives avec divers syndicats pour différentes opérations de FirstCanada ULC.
+ Représente l'entreprise lors d'arbitrages et de médiations.
+ Représente l'entreprise devant les commissions provinciales du travail et les tribunaux des droits de la personne.
+ Représente l'entreprise lors de procédures judiciaires.
+ Fournit à la direction des opérations et au département RH des conseils quotidiens sur toutes les questions liées aux ressources humaines, lois, règlements, politiques et procédures.
+ Gère les réclamations et litiges liés à l'emploi et développe des stratégies de défense et/ou de règlement.
+ Aide le gestionnaire et les RHRM à analyser, développer des stratégies et communiquer les nouvelles lois du travail adoptées au niveau fédéral, provincial ou municipal qui affectent nos employés.
+ Maintient des mécanismes de rapport d'entreprise précis et opportuns pour les domaines de responsabilité.
**Formation**
+ Diplôme en droit
**Expérience et Compétence**
+ Plus de 6 ans d'expérience juridique en droit du travail et de l'emploi.
+ Doit avoir de l'expérience en négociation collective et en arbitrage.
+ Doit être parfaitement bilingue en français et en anglais.
+ Maîtrise des outils informatiques.
+ Capacité à gérer plusieurs priorités et à respecter les délais.
+ Capacité à travailler de manière autonome tout en étant un bon joueur d'équipe.
+ Bonnes compétences administratives et excellentes compétences interpersonnelles.
+ Capacité à interagir avec des personnalités diverses. Diplomate, mature et flexible.
+ Capacité à communiquer clairement, de manière concise, organisée et persuasive à l'oral comme à l'écrit.
**Conditions de Travail**
+ Poste en télétravail, avec des déplacements jusqu'à 75 %.
+ Peut être amené à voyager aux États-Unis.
+ Le titulaire doit pouvoir se déplacer dans les bureaux et entre les étages ; utiliser l'équipement de bureau standard ; accéder aux systèmes/classeurs de classement ; et communiquer efficacement en personne ou par téléphone.

**Job Description Summary**
The Labour Counsel position is an integral role to the organization and a key functioning hands-on member of the Labour Relations/HR team. In this role you will work closely with the Labour Relations/HR leadership team and collaborate closely with key members of the company Operational, Finance and other key support positions. Serve as a subject matter expert, providing day to day guidance on Labour Relations and related legal matters. This includes leading the preparation for collective bargaining union contract negotiations and serving as the Chief Spokesperson during collective bargaining negotiations. Serve as the company representative for related federal, provincial and municipal matters, including representing the company at various labour boards, human rights tribunals and conducting court proceedings, arbitrations and mediations.
**Major Responsibilities**
+ Serves as chief negotiator in collective bargaining negotiations for various operational locations, involving a variety of unions.
+ Having first-chair, chief labor negotiator spokesperson experience is highly preferred.
+ Must be a subject matter expert in Labour Relations related matters.
+ Serve as the company representation before various boards and tribunals
+ Provides Operations and HR leaders with day-to-day guidance regarding all Labour Relations related matters, such as Labor contract interpretation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
+ Lead the facilitation, application, and rollout of new labor law requirements, working closely with Operations and Human Resources leaders, developing strategy and communication execution.
+ Serve as the strategic leader for collective bargaining preparation initiatives, ensuring timely and effective advanced planning.
+ Provide guidance in addressing any potential work stoppage, from Operation contingency planning to media and security involvement.
+ Collaborate closely with the Labour Relations, Human Resources, Operations and Financial team leaders in all collective bargaining preparation and execution matters.
**Minimum Education or Certifications Required**
+ Law degree

+ 6+ years of traditional labour and employment experience.

+ Fluently Bilingual in French and English
+ Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to include; clear, concise, and persuasive skills.
+ Computer proficiency.
+ Can function self-sufficiently and independently.
+ Must be a detailed oriented strategic leader, responsible for delivering on the execution of initiatives.
+ Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
+ Ability to work as a strong collaborative and influential team player.
+ Strong administrative skills and superior interpersonal skills.
+ Effective leadership and organization skills. Must have the ability to be a strategic thinker, develop strategy and goals, while working with individuals across the organization.
+ Travel 50% - 75%.

+ May be required to travel to the USA
+ Incumbent must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone.
