Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Business Intelligence team.

The Business Intelligence Analyst plays a key role in supporting firm leadership by translating complex business questions into clear, actionable insights. This individual is primarily focused on front-end development—designing intuitive visualizations that enable better decision-making and drive operational efficiency. In addition to working closely with stakeholders to gather, synthesize, and document business requirements, the Analyst will also contribute to light back-end development tasks in collaboration with the Business Intelligence Developer. They will support all phases of project execution, including planning, design, and implementation, and are expected to work independently with limited direct oversight.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Interface with business stakeholders to understand objectives, define reporting needs, and translate into technical requirements 
  • Leverage internal data to improve processes, gain insights, and produce actionable recommendations 
  • Assist with solving unique business challenges, trends, or inquires through ad hoc analysis

 Dashboarding & Reporting 

  • Design and develop intuitive, interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, pulling data from our Boulay databases (built in Microsoft SQL Server) 
  • Apply data visualization best practices to ensure clarity, accessibility, and insight 
  • Strengthen product adoption and support business users through on-going training for Business Intelligence products
  • Maintain and optimize existing reports to meet evolving business requirements, improve performance and relevance 

 Data Modeling & Development 

  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence Developer on data modeling tasks as needed to support front-end development 
  • Develop ad hoc queries and views in SQL Server to extract and validate data across multiple sources 

Quality Assurance & Documentation 

  • Assist with quality assurance through testing, verifying, documenting results, and maintenance of Business Intelligence products 
  • Validate data accuracy and integrity in reports and dashboards 
  • Create documentation for report logic, data definitions, and dashboard usage 

Requirements

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Accounting, or Business-related field  
  • 2-5 years of business analysis or related experience  
  • Experience with Power BI, or other data visualization tools 
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex or diverse information 
  • Strong analytical stills and ability to ask effective questions 
  • Strong attention to accuracy and details 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multitask 
  • Creative thinker with vision and passion to innovate 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel) 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with MS SQL or a similar query language
  • Experience with Azure Power Platform
  • Experience with Deltek Maconomy 
  • Ability to understand pre-existing SQL codes generated by others 
  • Willingness to go above and beyond what is expected 

The annual salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $120,000. This salary range reflects the anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. Final compensation may vary depending upon an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Individuals may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of incentives, commissions, profit sharing, and more, depending on the role.
