Job Description

Are you an experienced Superintendent looking to contribute to exciting commercial construction projects? We are seeking dedicated and experienced superintendents to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our Commercial Retail Projects (Supermarkets and Fuel Stations) in Yuma, Arizona.

If you're passionate about the construction industry and have the leadership qualities we're looking for, we'd love to have you join our team. Your primary focus will be ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the work of subcontractors on-site to ensure smooth operations.
Review and understand project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure everything aligns with project goals.
Direct and schedule subcontractors' activities, ensuring a productive and safe work environment for everyone on-site.
Ensure all materials, trades, and workers comply with project specifications, maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Coordinate and oversee inspections by local authorities, including building officials, health and fire departments, and special inspections.
Monitor and maintain the project schedule, ensuring it stays on track and adjust resources as necessary to meet deadlines.
Obtain final project inspections, certifications, and occupancy compliance.
Assist the Project Manager with financial tracking, managing GC costs, and handling requests for extra work from both owners and subcontractors.
Help compile closeout documents, including as-builts, warranty documentation, and manufacturer manuals.
Lead weekly on-site safety meetings and ensure that all subcontractors adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Complete daily logs and ensure they are submitted by the end of each business day.
Coordinate with vendors and manage equipment needs for the project.
Review all submittals for approval and ensure that any changes are properly documented.
Lead punch list creation and ensure all items are completed to meet project standards.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel to various job sites in Yuma, Arizona.
Ability to walk through construction sites and review work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, and rain).
Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts, including night shifts, as required to keep the project on schedule.
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or scaffolding to ensure compliance with contract documents.
Willingness to operate construction equipment, such as forklifts and scissor lifts.

Qualifications & Skills:

Strong computer skills and attention to detail with paperwork and project documentation.
Ability to read and thoroughly understand construction plans and submittals.
Experience in wood framing and retail construction is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
Problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to manage complex issues on-site.
A solid understanding of building systems, including architectural and MEP systems.
Highly motivated with exceptional organizational, teamwork, and customer service skills.
