We recognize the importance of creating a work environment that is both rewarding to our employees and supportive of our unwavering commitment to provide unparalleled service to our clients. **Purpose** Provides archaeological, architectural history, and conservation expertise in the performance of field investigations, laboratory analysis and compliance with historic preservation laws and regulations. **Responsibilities** **Leadership and Direction** + Receive broad guidance from senior level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance. **At the Operational and Company Level** + Manage client relationships with new and existing clients. + Identify and evaluate sales opportunities (prospects and proposals) and make recommendations to the Directors; assist in proposal efforts. + Network within industry organizations to expand the regional client base in line with the region's strategic goals. **Do the Work** + Develop and foster team relationships. + Manage the performance of individual projects and effectively coordinate with clients and agencies to produce technically excellent work that is on time and on budget. + Mentor and coach junior team members in client services + Supervise, mentor, and provide project specific direction to cultural resources project managers, technical staff, and field personnel. + Provide general support to the team relating to safety, equipment, subject matter resources, training opportunities, regulatory and research updates, etc. + Take a leading role in managing the schedule for the cultural resources group, ensuring adequate coverage of project needs and appropriate assignments of staff to specific tasks, and identifying staffing shortfalls so that additional support can be sought either through subconsultants, staff from other offices, or hiring. + Serve as the lead hiring manager for project- and staff-level positions. + Direct field and laboratory teams, in coordination with project managers, assistant project managers, and principal investigator, and prepare and review cultural resources reports and other related documents, providing direction and quality assurance. + Develop recommendations for mitigation measures, monitoring, and permitting specific to cultural resources. + Manage and participate in all aspects of cultural resources projects successfully, including budgeting, scheduling, research, fieldwork, report writing, curation. + Collaborate with other project managers across offices and disciplines to successfully meet client and agency needs. + Work independently in a responsible manner, resolving project challenges. + Work within defined schedules and meet analysis and interpretation + Proven track record of innovation, leadership, and **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or related field + Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field + Four or more (4+) years progressively more responsible experience in cultural resources fieldwork, consulting, and project management, including developing and implementing budgets, schedules, and scopes of work from pre-field tasks to final report preparation. + Previous experience with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations throughout the U.S. is required, including Section 106 of the NHPA, NEPA, NAGPRA, ARPA. + Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring, and providing leadership for other + Demonstrated business development success and consulting acumen, including established credibility with federal and state reviewing agencies and clients, as well as success in proposal writing. + Demonstrated expertise in federal, state, and local cultural resources laws and regulations. + Ability to meet Secretary of Interior (SOI) standards to be a Principal Investigator in the state of
