Job Summary

Vista Equity Partners is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Marketing to join our Go To Market (GTM) Value Creation Team (VCT). This role is pivotal in partnering with portfolio company executives to drive marketing excellence, optimize go-to-market (GTM) strategies, and accelerate growth across our enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic marketing acumen, operational expertise, and a passion for transforming marketing functions to achieve measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Marketing Leadership: Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business objectives and drive customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
  • GTM Optimization: Assess and enhance GTM approaches, ensuring alignment between marketing, sales, and customer success functions to maximize market impact and efficiency
  • Marketing Function Transformation: Lead initiatives to elevate marketing capabilities, including demand generation, digital marketing, positioning, and content strategy, with an emphasis on the use of AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate marketing effectiveness, providing insights and recommendations for ongoing optimization.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to portfolio company executives and Vista's investment teams, offering thought leadership and guidance on marketing best practices and trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with a strong track record in B2B SaaS or enterprise software environments.
  • Experience in a top-tier management consulting firm or private equity operating role with an emphasis on B2B software
  • Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and building consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects in dynamic environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to engage with portfolio companies and Vista teams.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $250,000-280,000.  Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise and the applicant's skill set.  The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.  Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
