FACILITIES MANAGER
Reports to: Director of Administration and Operations
SUMMARY
Responsible for Art For People school and performing arts center operation and maintenance.
Help establish school and center operational policies and procedures. Manage all facility staff. Responsible for physical enhancements of facilities necessary to meeting Art For People's educational, creative, artistic production goals. Establish and maintain community relations. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Direct and coordinate school and center operations within Art For People policies and procedures.
2.Research, identify and negotiate contracts for rental/purchase of potential sites for school and center location, based on established real estate needs/requirements.
3.Maintain a clean and safe school and performing arts facility.
4.Establish and direct facility policies and procedures.
5.
Responsible for physical enhancements of facilities necessary to meeting Art For People's educational, creative, artistic production goals. Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
6.
Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
7.
Confer with Director of Administration and Operations to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
8.
Responsible for establishing all shift staffing schedules.
9.
Select and train facility supervisory and administrative staff.
10.
Conduct employee performance reviews.
11.
Schedule and conduct facility staff meetings.
12.
Responsible for the technical quality control for the school and center.
13.
Attend scheduled organization training and meetings.
14.
Other duties as assigned.

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate organization staff.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1.
Commitment to the goals and philosophy of Art For People.
2.
Experience in planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and management. Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations. Ability to analyze and assess training and development needs. Experience in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications.

Work requires written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality environments and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
4.
Direction of facility operations and community relations requires significant management knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Degree in business or related field and by seven to ten years of experience that includes supervisory responsibility and experience in a facilities management position.
5.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a multi-purpose community services facility environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of appropriate safety equipment, and following of relevant safety regulations.
