JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision the Healthcare Authorization Specialist II is responsible for ensuring that insurance benefits are verified, patient responsibility estimates are calculated and communicated to the patient and/or family and authorization is secured timely for all assigned service types. The incumbent is responsible for being a specialist in their area for internal and external customer inquiries as well as supporting various communication needs as required. SKILLS REQUIRED: - Integrity - Strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Superb customer relation skills - Ability to organize and interpret data. - Good judgment, tact and diplomacy, and ability to problem solve. - Proven computer and software skills MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent - 2 years of Healthcare Authorization experience or 4 years of experience in Healthcare Revenue PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with Epic or other EMR Systems - 5 years of experience - Bilingual English/Spanish **The current salary range for this position is $23.10 to $31.77** Rady Children's Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
