The Houseperson is responsible for the cleanliness of the guest hallways and stocking, organizing, and maintaining the locker on a daily basis. This position supports the Guest Room Attendant by regularly removing soiled linen and trash including but not limited to stripping rooms and acting as a runner. The Houseperson provides professional and courteous service to each and every guest exceeding expectations through positive interactive skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knows and adheres to Wynn policies and procedures, embrace company culture and take pride in the resort and amenities.
  • Awareness of guest experience at all times, smiles and makes eye contact, communicates professionally.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Wynn Five Star standards of service to guests and coworkers at all times.
  • Follows all department policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the following, such as (but not limited to):
    • Hallways
      • Responsible for cleaning the carpet (including edges), walls, doors, baseboards, decors, lights, high dusting, vents, furniture, mirror, ceilings and telephones.
      • Ensures the hallway is always cleared of any linen, trash, table and any obstruction.
    • Lockers
      • Responsible for maintaining water cooler cleaned and replenished.
      • Ensures baseboard, floors, walls, mop sink and linen shelf are cleaned.
      • Ensures no guest room items left in the lockers.
      • Ensure linen shelf is well organized and daily bedding inventory is completed.
      • Responsible for cleaning and organizing the Prohost carts including no totes missing, no lost and found left and charging cable is in good working condition.
      • Must keep amenity supply closet cleaned and organized.
      • Must empty and clean yellow, red, and gray bins.
    • BOH bathroom – cleaned; fully replenished (toilet paper, etc.); trash is emptied.
    • Landings
      • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of elevator doors/tracks, walls, baseboards, and doors.
      • Must empty green hamper (no trash or boxes left inside) and blue recycle bin.
      • Ensures linen/trash chute and ice machine are always secured.
      • Replenishes linen and terry supplies in the IRD Middle Locker throughout the shift.
      • Opens work orders to have any tables, appliances, etc. picked up and removed from the landings.
    • Stairwells – maintain cleanliness and ensures it is free of any obstruction.
    • Lobbies
      • Responsible for cleaning carpet, floor, walls, doors, baseboards, decors, lights, high dusting, vents, furniture, mirror, ceilings, telephones. elevator doors/tracks, trash can, ash trays (replenish black sand if needed).
      • Ensure the ice machine is clean and in working order.
    • Guest rooms
      • Responsible for picking up linen and trash (including biohazard contaminated items) at least 4 times from each guest room attendant each shift.
      • Responsible for moving furniture including rollaway beds (in and out of rooms), flipping mattresses and preparation of ECOLAB rooms (including inspection of mattress using blacklight).
      • Responsible for properly stripping any assigned rooms – removal of all trash and soiled linen/terry.
      • Properly uses defogger machine to eliminate malodor from the room, including opening all doors and drawers.
  • Assist on preparing rooms for project.
  • Other condition issues are addressed by creating HotSOS work orders.
  • Deliver requested items, such as refrigerators, pillows, rollaway, cribs, etc. to guest rooms on time per Forbes requirement.
  • Responsible for inspecting and/or cleaning safety equipment including fire extinguishers cabinets and eyewash station. If safety equipment is damaged/missing, report via HotSOS and/or management team.
  • Knowledgeable on the proper usage of HotSOS/iPod including retrieval/returning process, messaging and opening/starting/completing work orders.
  • Participates in weekly walk with managers to evaluate floor conditions including assigning/following up on projects. 
  • Works with safety as a priority (reporting any discrepancies immediately) and follows department and company safety guidelines in using motorized equipment, use of chemicals, and lifting requirements.
  • Responsibility also includes maintenance of equipment as trained.
  • Attends required training classes and incorporates new standards, service knowledge and safety into daily work practices.
  • Understands the resort, hotel features and services including how to find the information for the guests.
  • Solution oriented, avoiding conflict and gossip, stays on task and promotes teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be well groomed and professional.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English with guests, management, and other associates to their understanding. Additional foreign language a plus.
  • Willingness to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding guests and staff.
  • Combination of education equivalent to graduation from high school (High school diploma) or any other combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • At least two years’ experience serving guest rooms in a 4/5 Star/Diamond Resort preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
