Job Description

The Resource Training Center Inc. D/B/A Christopher's Reason is an OASAS certified and NYS Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), IDP training provider. We are seeking a full-time Bilingual (Spanish) IDP/ADD Instructor to join our team. This is a contracted position based in Queens, NY.

The instructor will be responsible for but not limited to teaching the IDP 16-hour Prime for Life curriculum required by the State of New York for DWI/DUI offenders. The instructor will also be responsible for but not limited to teaching the participants the National Safety Council-approved Attitudes and Dynamics of Driving course on identifying driving behaviors and becoming reacquainted with the basic rules, regulations & responsibilities as a driver.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct and educate individuals on the Impaired Driver Program (IDP) curriculum.
• Instruct and educate individuals on the Attitudes and Dynamics (ADD) curriculum.
• Deliver engaging and informative lessons to program participants.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress to ensure all hours are accounted for.
• Ensure compliance with New York State DMV regulations.
• Provide instruction in both English and Spanish to accommodate diverse learners.
• Help participants find treatment and counseling.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
• Certified or eligible for certification as an IDP Driving Instructor in New York State.
• Must have a valid New York State driver's license.
• Must not have a driver's license suspension or revocation in at least three years.
• Must have at least two years of professional experience as a group counselor or teacher
• Strong communication and instructional skills.
• Ability to engage and support program participants.
• Prior experience in education, counseling, or driver safety training is a plus.
