About the Microsoft 365 (M365) and Entra ID Admin Position:
Develops and maintains expertise in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID. Manages applications daily to ensure the availability, security, and performance of Microsoft applications such as Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Security & Compliance Center, Intune, and third-party applications. Tasks include provisioning, integrating (SAML - OAuth), operating, supporting, maintaining, backing up, and conducting training or research to ensure continual availability and smooth operations. Position will also require level 1 and 2 technical support for end users and some external clients.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Security: Maintain knowledge of application changes, vulnerabilities, and patches; research and apply hardening techniques; perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible risks or intrusions; investigate incidents and/or intrusions if detected.
Operations and Support: Perform daily application monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all assigned applications, review logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups; manage user accounts per approved requests; provide Tier III application support; investigate and troubleshoot issues; conduct Tier I and user-level training; support remote and onsite staff with laptops, printers, software installs, onboarding/offboarding, hardware troubleshooting, and password resets.
Maintenance: Apply upgrades regularly; upgrade administrative tools and utilities; configure/add new services as needed; maintain operational and configuration procedures; perform performance reporting to support capacity planning and tuning; coordinate hardware upgrades.
Collaborate across teams to balance competing priorities and achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications:
25 years of experience working with Microsoft 365 administration.
Experience with SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, Intune-Mobile Device Management, Entra ID, PowerShell scripting (higher-level admin via PowerShell).
Experience managing laptops remotely via Intune and Intune Autopilot.
510 years of general IT application administration and IT support experience.
General experience supporting other applications is a strong plus.
Strong communication and user interaction skills required.
SQL data query skills (basic level) preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant experience and/or IT or Security certifications will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Proficient in both Windows and Microsoft Office environments.
