The Position

As a  Business Office Manager , you will oversee the daily operations of the billing and referral teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely billing and referral services. You will lead staff development, manage departmental performance, and collaborate closely with coding, hospital billing, and clinic leadership to optimize financial outcomes and patient access.

Your Day-to-Day Work

  • Supervise, mentor, and guide billing, referral, and potentially front desk staff.
  • Organize and optimize department workflows, schedules, and staffing coverage.
  • Monitor billing and referral accuracy to ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance guidelines.
  • Manage staff performance through evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
  • Develop department goals, implement best practices, and drive operational improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between staff, leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage departmental budgets and promote fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain community partnerships and participate in ongoing education and training initiatives.
  • Manage high-volume revenue cycle

Environment and Shift Details

This is a full-time, onsite leadership role based in a professional office environment, Monday through Friday. The work requires frequent communication with teams and leadership, along with computer and administrative work in a dynamic clinic setting. A hybrid-remote work schedule may be available after a 90-day in-office training period. 

Experience & Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • At least  three (3) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing, referrals, and insurance guidelines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with Epic systems and Medicare/Medicaid billing regulations.
  • Experience managing front desk operations in addition to billing and referrals.
  • Prior experience in a cardiology or specialty clinic environment.
