Do you want to be part of the daily newsgathering operation of a 24/7 newsroom? ABC News is looking for a Production Associate to support the Assignment Desk in our Los Angeles Bureau. This role requires overnight and weekend availability.
Our **Production Associates** support daily newsgathering and broadcast operations by assisting producers and editorial teams with research, script formatting, video editing, and coordinating live and recorded segments. This role is essential in ensuring news content is accurate, timely, and visually compelling.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives under tight deadlines, and demonstrates a strong interest in current events and journalism. This position offers a foundational opportunity to contribute to impactful storytelling in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
**Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:**
+ Support producers and correspondents on field assignments by managing logistics, booking travel, and producing live shots for broadcasts including _Good Morning America_ and _World News Tonight_ _._
+ Monitor video feeds and breaking news across the News Division, making editorial calls to enhance content quality.
+ Make and answer phone calls during breaking news, assisting with coordination and communication.
+ Identify, research, and pitch compelling stories for news coverage across platforms.
+ Log and transcribe video content and write stories for ABC News Digital platforms.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Minimum of one-year experience working in a newsroom
+ Genuine interest in current events, journalism, and production.
+ Excellent multi-tasker with attention to details.
+ Proven ability to work under pressure.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication.
+ Availability to work flexible schedules/extended hours/weekends, evenings, overnights.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $53,300 to $71,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
