Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager (PMP Certified)

Location: Bismarck, ND (Remote)

Contract Duration: 3+ Years

Overview:

We are actively seeking a Senior IT Project Manager with deep experience leading enterprise-level initiatives in the public sector. This is a remote, full-time contract opportunity to support multiple IT projects across various agencies within the State of North Dakota.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in government environments and must hold an active PMP certification. Experience delivering IT projects for North Dakota state agencies is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple complex IT projects from initiation through delivery.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with stakeholders across multiple state agencies.
• Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely mitigation and resolution.
• Prepare and deliver regular project status updates to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with state IT standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks.
• Track and report time and project metrics using state-approved systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Active PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
• Previous experience managing IT projects for a North Dakota state agency (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in state or local government environments.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
