Job Description

We’re looking for a Training and Development Manager to take ownership of our learning and development strategy—ensuring our teams have the skills, support, and structure to grow their careers and elevate our company.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for designing and managing all aspects of training and development across the company. You’ll oversee and be responsible for structuring training for technical skills, soft skills, and leadership development. You’ll also lead mentorship programs, coordinate training logistics, and build a culture that values continual improvement.

This is the ideal position for someone with strong experience in adult learning and workforce development—particularly within the civil construction or industrial space. Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing and managing training programs in a construction or industrial environment
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles and structured training development
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring field and management personnel
  • Familiarity with construction processes, team dynamics, and field operations
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital tools

Preferred Experience

  • 10+ years in training, leadership development, or organizational development
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or training documentation platforms
  • Civil construction experience: water/wastewater infrastructure, concrete, tanks, roads, bridges, or dams
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Construction Management, Organizational Development, or related field  

Position Responsibilities

  • Design and Lead Training Programs: Develop and manage structured, scalable training programs across field and leadership roles—covering core civil construction disciplines (concrete, tanks, water infrastructure, restoration, roads, and bridges) as well as leadership skills such as planning, delegation, and communication.
  • Develop Curriculum and Materials: Create role-specific content, training playbooks, checklists, and simulations to support real-world learning. Establish training standards aligned with company expectations for performance, safety, and quality.
  • Deliver and Coordinate Training: Facilitate workshops, coaching sessions, and jobsite-based training. Collaborate with field leaders and subject matter experts to co-deliver specialty content. Coordinate logistics, certifications, and external training opportunities.
  • Support Leadership Growth: Build leadership training tracks, identify and mentor high-potential employees, and support career advancement through structured development and succession planning.
  • Evaluate and Improve: Conduct skill gap analyses, collect feedback, and track performance metrics to evaluate training effectiveness. Continuously improve training content, methods, and outcomes.
  • Maintain Records and Communication: Manage training documentation, progress tracking, and material updates. Communicate regularly with leadership to assess training needs and align efforts with company goals.
