The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation (CTDOT),  is now accepting applications for a Transportation Engineer 3 (Engineering) position within the Division of Traffic Engineering – Traffic Safety Engineering Unit, in the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, at our Headquarters in Newington, CT.

THE ROLE

Transportation Engineer 3’s in the Division of Traffic Engineering provide lead services in the development of projects and tasks that improve the safety, capacity, and efficiency of the State’s transportation system and find solutions to challenging roadway and multi-modal improvement problems.  Engineering staff in Traffic Engineering manage, direct and coordinate traffic designs, studies, and investigations for State roadways.  Traffic Engineers work to prevent fatal and serious injury crashes on state and local roadways in Connecticut through research and implementing new and innovative solutions such as types of roadway configurations, signals, signs, and pavement markings, proven to save lives and reduce serious injuries.

Full Time, 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday
Location: Newington, CT
Hybrid (in-office/telework) and alternate work schedules may be available
